Meet Our Coaches

Eric Blount

Eric Blount

Offensive Skills Coach

Eric Blount, from Ayden, North Carolina, played college football at the University of North Carolina. He was a 1992 NFL Draft pick for the Arizona Cardinals and played for 2 years. Eric also spent 8 years in the CFL playing for Edmonton, Winnipeg, Toronto, and Montreal. He holds the Edmonton Elks record for most touchdowns in one game (5 TDs vs. Winnipeg in 1995). Additionally, Eric has coaching experience as the RB coach with the Edmonton Huskies in 2007 and the Edmonton Raiders in 2016.

Rio Wells

Rio Wells

Defensive Skills Coach

Rio Wells, born in New Orleans, Louisiana, attended John Ehret High School. He played college football at Fresno State University in California for 4 years. Rio signed a free agent contract with the Eskimos (1997-1999), and played for Winnipeg in 2000, one season of Arena Football with Detroit Fury in 2001, and with Toronto Argos in 2001. He has coaching experience with the Edmonton Huskies (2004-2006), where he was part of the CJFL back-to-back champions in 2004 and 2005. He also coached Westend Raiders to city championships in 2022 and 2023.
